Trip of a Lifetime

You, our American Veteran, made sacrifices for our country. It’s Honor Flight Rochester’s honor and privilege to fly you to Washington, DC to tour the memorials built in your honor, at no cost to you. It’s the least we can do to thank you for all you’ve done for us. 

We fly out early on a Saturday morning from Frederick Douglas Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). You’ll spend Saturday visiting multiple branch memorials, such as, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and various war memorials; you’ll meet strangers who express gratitude for your service and their freedom; you’ll be celebrated and finish the day with dinner at the hotel. We’ll fly you back early on Sunday where you’ll be greeted by people there to honor YOU. 

Veteran Priority

Priority is given to veterans from the earliest eras and then to those following. Terminally ill U.S. veterans, regardless of when they served, also receive priority and will be bumped to the top and assigned a flight as soon as possible.

Guardians

A guardian accompanies every veteran, providing assistance and helping to ensure a safe, memorable and rewarding experience. If you wish to travel with a particular person as your guardian, please make sure to include his/her name on the application. If you do not have a guardian in mind, a trained volunteer guardian will be assigned to you.

NOTE: Once you submit your application, you will be entered into our fly list and placed on a first-come, first-served basis based on your service era. We fly in Spring and Fall. When it’s close to your time to fly, a Veteran Registration Form will be mailed to you. Please return the Veteran Registration Form to us within 5 days of receipt. Upon receipt of your registration form, you will receive a phone call from an Honor Flight volunteer to discuss availability and any significant health concerns.
